About Margaret
The illustrious reputation of Royale Icing evolved from Margaret
Lastick's love of both fine art and gourmet cuisine. She is one of a
handful of European-style cake makers now practicing in the United
States, and has received acclaim as a supreme maestro of cake
decorating from numerous food critics.
In addition to Margaret Lastick's studies at both the Scandinavia
School in Minneapolis and the renowned Johnson and Whales School,
her talent is a family heritage dating back to her grandmother,
who was a baker for Emperor Franz Joseph in Vienna. Margaret
Lastick had an apprenticeship under an accomplished European
baker and since forming Royale Icing in 1987, she has elevated
cake design to an art for an impressive list of satisfied clients.
A wide variety of styles, flavors, and colors are available from
festive gingerbread houses to Victorian cakes crowned with lace and regaled with trailing buttercream lilies. Refined and elegant Austrian design cakes with preservable hand-made sugar roses, decadent chocolate fantasies and enchanting theme cakes are just a few of the carefully crafted cakes offered to those who want a masterpiece. Margaret's cakes are a genuine treat for the gourmand and a joy to behold.

"I listen to each customer's desires and requirements carefully, to ensure that what I create for their wedding or special event lives on in their memories long after my works have been enjoyed."
"Today's emphasis is on flavor, originality and clarity of design. Fresh flowers and artistically hand-molded and hand-painted sugar flowers have replaced the traditionally buttercream ornaments, adding more dimension and color."
"I use only the freshest and most natural ingredients in my original recipes, including rich varieties of French chocolates and European butters."
